Left Wrist TFCC Injury Recovery Log

Timeline
Bouldering injury
First rehabilitation clinic visit · Heng Xin Rehabilitation Clinic
Started ongoing physical therapy.
Rehabilitation clinic visit · Landseed International Clinic
Pain returned at night
The wrist felt much better in the morning, but persistent pain returned at night. I wondered whether the brace had been worn incorrectly.
Hand surgery visit · Taipei Veterans General Hospital
I wanted to understand the exact TFCC injury location and severity, whether MRI was needed, and treatment options. I bought a proper TFCC wrist brace and also asked whether the ganglion cyst needed treatment.
Decided to start shockwave treatment · Heng Xin Rehabilitation Clinic
Rehabilitation clinic follow-up · Heng Xin Rehabilitation Clinic
I forgot the exact date of the fourth shockwave treatment. After it, wrist rotation was much less painful, but wall push-ups still caused stabbing pain around the ulnar palm side.
Rehabilitation clinic follow-up · Ri He Rehabilitation Clinic
I tried another rehabilitation clinic. Palpation and ultrasound did not give a clear conclusion at first, so the ganglion cyst was aspirated for observation.
After I added that bending and loading the wrist caused stabbing pain, the doctor checked again with ultrasound and found one slightly swollen nerve segment in my left wrist.
The plan changed to conservative treatment: ultrasound, electrical stimulation, laser, B12, and a two-week follow-up.
Felt mostly recovered after the Hokkaido hiking trip
After hiking in Hokkaido from 2025-07-25 to 2025-08-17, the wrist felt about 99% recovered.
